Dua For Fasting – 2023 Full Guide For Iftar and Openning Fast Duas

Duas Before and After Fasting and Iftar In Ramadan:

There are several occasions in Ramadan where you can say different Duas such as the following:

1. Dua to Open Fast in Ramadan

The best Dua to open fast in Ramadan is saying when want to start fasting: 

“I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship but Allah, I don’t seek forgiveness except Allah, we ask you (O Allah) for Paradise and we seek refuge with you from the Hellfire. O my Lord I Bear witness before You That I intended to fast the entire days of the month of  Ramadan for the sake of you. Accept Ya Allah and forgive all my sins.”

2. Dua For Breaking Fast In Ramadan – Ramadan Dua Before Fasting

There is a special dua you can see for breaking the fast in Ramadan “dua for iftar”: 

“O Ya Allah, For  Your Sake, I have fasted, and upon Your breadwinner I will break my fast.”

3. Dua After Drinking Water Or Juice on Iftar

Before drinking water on Iftar you can say:

“The thirst is gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward has been earned if Allah wills.” (Sunan Abi Dawud)

4. Dua After Ending Iftar 

After you end your iftar you can say the following Dua:

“O Allah, accept our prayer (Sawlat), our fast, our night worships (Qiyam), our bow (Ruku’ at), our  prostrations for you, our submission for you, our invocation for you, our devotion for you, and screen our shortcomings, O Allah, O Most wise. And prayers and salutations be upon our prophet Muhammad and upon his family and companions, and praise be to Allah the Lord of all the worlds”

5. Dua For Ramadan Suhoor

The best Ramadan Suhoor Dua is saying every time on the Suhoor:

“O Ya Allah the most Merciful! I believe in you, I fast for You, I break my fast for you ,and I put my trust in You, I intend to  fast tomorrow, Accept my fasting, Ya Allah” 

Dua For The Beginning Of The Month of Ramadan 

There are two duas for the beginning of Ramadan, both are reported from the Prophet (saw):

“O My Lord, bring Ramadan over us with Faith, blessing, deeds of charity, and handouts, Grant Us the peace and security. My Lord and Your Lord is Allah”

“Ya Allah, I bear witness to you that I intended to fast your holy month, My Lord make it easy for me to fast, and accept my fast.”

1. Ramadan Mubarak Dua 

The Ramadan Mubarak Dua is:

“O Allah: the Lord of the month of Ramadan.

In which you revealed the Qur’an,

And You imposed fasting on Your servants:

(Please) Make this sacred month Mubarak (auspicious) for me and for all Muslims. 

(Please) endow me with the pilgrimage to Your Holy House,

In this year and every year,

And forgive my grave sins,

For none can forgive them except You,

O the Lord of majesty and honor.”

2. Dua For The First 10 Days Of Ramadan

The best Dua For The First 10 Days Of Ramadan is: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recommended saying:

“O ya, Allah. I ask you for all good, for all I know, and for all that I don’t know. For what is near, and for what is far. I seek refuge in You from all evil. From all I know, and from all that I don’t know. Both immediate and delayed. 

I ask you the best that your servant and your prophet Muhammad has ever asked you, I seek refuge in You from all the evil that your servant and your prophet Muhammad has taken refuge from. I ask you the paradise, I ask you each saying or an act that makes me nearer to it. And I seek refuge in You from fire, and from each saying or act that makes me nearer to it.”

3. Dua For the Last Ten Days Of Ramadan

The Prophet (saw) recommended praying a special dua for the last ten days of Ramadan, this Dua is:

“O Most Receiving Of Repentance, don’t reject our repentance – And bestow Your mercy upon all your believers and grant us peace forever.

The Knowledge of my Lord  is satisfactory for me – From asking and deciding

For my prayer and invocation – Is a witness to my state of  neediness

I am a servant for you, Ya Allah and my pride lies – In my state of need and desperation.”

4. Dua End Of Ramadan 

The best dua for the end of Ramadan is the following:

“O Allah Unite us again with Ramadan year after year in the way that You love. The way that pleases You, O Most Merciful. O Allah protect,  your servants from the hellfire in this sacred month.

O Allah save us from hellfire.

Permit us to enter into your Paradise safely, enjoin us with the company of the pious, and grant us to look upon Your Honorable Grace, O Lord of the worlds.

O Allah, You are indeed Forgiving and love to forgive, so forgive us.”

Prayer Duas in Ramadan:

There are several Ramadan prayers where you can say a variety of Duas, such as the following:


When you end your Tarawih Prayer you can say the following Dua:

“O Allah make us from those who are faithful, those who perform all obligations, keep their prayers, give Zakat, seek for which is due to done for You, those who hope to obtain Your forgiveness, hold on firmly to your guidance, turn away from sinful acts, show no interest for worldly pleasures, desire the life of the next world.

O Ya Allah, make us from those who are pleased with the divine decree, who are thankful for Your blessings, who are steady during trials, make us from those who would walk behind our prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Day of Judgement.

From those who would drink from the Prophet’s well (in the nextworld), would dwell the Paradise, would be saved from the hellfire, would sit on the honored cushions (of paradise), would be married to the partners of Paradise, would be embellished with  apparels (of paradise) from Silk, velveteen, and gold- clothes.

From those who  would eat and drink from the foods and drinks of Paradise, in the company of those You bestow blessings upon them from amongst the Prophets, the righteous, the saints and the pious and what a great company do they make, and it is satisfactory for me that Allah is All-Knowing, and praise be to Allah the God of all Worlds.”

2 . Dua after Witer Prayer (Salat) In Ramadan 

After ending the Witr prayer, the Prophet (peace and prayers are upon him) used to repeat this Dua three times:

“Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy” (Sunan An-Nasa’i)

3. Dua For Seeking Good Prayer and Worship on LAILATUL QADAR (Night Of Power)

The Prophet told his wife Aishah to recite this Dua if one were to meet Lailatul Qadar, the night that is better than a thousand months:

“O Allah, You are indeed Forgiving and love to forgive, so forgive me.” (Sunan At-Tirmizi).

Muslims can also recite this Dua on the night of Laylatul-Qadr: 

“In the name of Allah the Most Gracious and Most Merciful. Praise be to the Lord of all the worlds, prayers and salutations be upon the noblest of all the prophets and Messengers, our leader (sayyiduna) Muhammad, and upon his entire family and companions. 

O our Lord, the seekers have tabled before You on this night, intending to whisper to You, desiring Your bounties and grace. And You bestow, on this night just as any other night in the month of Ramadan, your hidden bonus, open-handedness, provisions, presents, and gifts upon whoever from Your servants, please. 

Therefore, make us amongst those You mentioned to receive Your providence. And here we are praying and supplicating to You as You have commanded us. So accept our prayers as how You have promised us, for indeed You never break Your promise. O Most Merciful. O Allah, O Divider of truth from falsification, and The Giver of the Holy Quran with wisdom and clarity.”

Best Daily Dua in Ramadan: 

Here are the best Ramadan Daily Dua. There is a dua that you can say it daily in Ramadan, this dua is:

“O, My Lord! Make me during Ramadan one of those who truly fast, make my prayers ones of those that truly accepted, and awaken me from heedlessness and inattentiveness, grant me forgiveness for all my sins, O Lord of the Worlds, and do forgive me, O One Who forgives all sins.”

1. Dua To Thank Allah For Ramadan

We should thank Allah the Almighty for granting us the holy month of Ramadan. A month that the righteous people desperately need to nourish their faith and beliefs.

Recite this Dua, ” My Lord. I thank you for making me still alive to fast this Ramadan.  Ya Allah! make me fast many coming months of Ramadan.”

2. Dua For Goodness in Ramadan

The Prophet Muhammad used to repeat this dua continuously. In this  Dua, we ask Allah for goodness in this world and hereafter. 

 “Our Lord, give us goodness in this world, and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.”

3. Dua For asking forgiveness for parents In Ramadan

The best dua for parents in Ramadan is:

“My Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and anyone who enters my home in faith, and all the believing men and believing women; and do not increase the wrongdoers except in perdition.”

4. Dua for the Union with righteous 

“My Lord, You have given me some authority and taught me some interpretation of events. Initiator of the heavens and the earth; You are my Protector in this life and in the Hereafter. Receive my soul in submission, and unite me with the righteous.” Surah Yusuf verse,

5. Dua for Forgiveness in Ramadan 

The best dua for forgiveness in Ramadan is to say:

“O Lord! Enable me during this sacred month to be one of those who seek Your forgiveness, make me one of Your righteous and adoring servants, and enable me to be one of Your close servants, O most merciful One!
