The evidence is that many women used to ‘respectfully’ ask the Prophet (ﷺ) about Islam matters, and he (ﷺ) did not push them away, nor deny their purposeful talk, telling them that their voices are actually awrah! No, he didn’t; rather, he used to appreciate their care of learning their religion and to give them the answers attentively.
Furthermore, the Prophet’s wives, like Lady Aisha- may Allah be pleased with her, used to teach, and narrate much of the Prophet’s sunnah to the Muslims, men and women.
So, as a woman, your voice, with which Allah created you, is not an awrah, as long as you are not making it sound soft, captivating, or ‘more feminine’, in front of the non-mahram men, so that you keep temptations away.
The Prophet’s wives are our respected example to follow, and Allah Almighty, in Qur’an, set the due standard of that matter, saying:
[O wives of the Prophet, you are not like anyone among women. If you fear Allāh, then do not be soft in speech [to men],1 lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech.] (Al-Ahzab:32).
Thereupon, as an honored Muslim woman, you should keep your voice as it is, natural, not tempting, and talk with a moderate, appropriate tone.

Yes, it is mainly their responsibility to control themselves; yet, you can simply ‘play safe’, by reciting the Qur’an, with low, unheard voice, especially when it is unnecessary to recite out loud, like when you are not learning the Qur’an, for example. Keep away from temptations as long as you can, for the sake of Allah.
